1. What DRS does
District Roofing Solutions Pty Ltd provides a roofing enquiry and referral service. We help identify and connect customers with independent roofing contractors who may be suitable for the customer’s enquiry.
2. DRS does not perform the roofing work
DRS is not the roofing contractor for work referred through this service. We do not perform, quote for, supervise or contract to carry out roofing work. The roofing contractor is an independent business. If you choose to proceed, you enter into a separate contract directly with that contractor.
3. Contractor responsibility
The contractor is responsible for inspecting the property, determining the appropriate scope, providing the quotation, entering into the roofing contract, carrying out and supervising the work, obtaining required licences, approvals and insurance, and dealing with workmanship, defects, warranties and other obligations arising from the roofing contract.
4. Referral fee disclosure
DRS receives a referral fee from the contractor: 5% of the Final Project Value excluding GST, plus GST on District's Referral Fee where required by law. The Referral Fee becomes earned and payable only once the referred job has been completed and the contractor has received the customer's final payment. If the customer pays in stages, DRS will not invoice the Referral Fee until the contractor has received the final customer payment. This allows the Referral Fee to be calculated on the completed job value, including approved variations and additional work. Your contractor provides your roofing quote and contract directly. An introduction does not require you to accept a quote or proceed with any work.
5. Your information
We collect information reasonably necessary to assess your enquiry and, with your consent, disclose relevant information to a suitable independent roofing contractor so they can contact you, arrange an inspection and/or provide a quotation. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
6. No guarantee
DRS does not guarantee that a contractor will accept your enquiry, provide a quotation, undertake the work, or provide a particular price, outcome or timeframe. This does not affect rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Contractor selection
District matches the enquiry with suitable independent contractors. Where an opportunity is made available through the District contractor network, one eligible contractor may accept and become assigned to the enquiry. A suitable opportunity may be visible to more than one eligible contractor while it remains available; the first valid eligible acceptance secures it, subject to the applicable eligibility and system checks. After assignment, the assigned independent contractor receives the necessary enquiry information. District may pause, withdraw or reallocate an opportunity where reasonably necessary for compliance, a customer request, capacity, safety, fraud, system error, performance or other exceptional circumstances. Unless expressly stated, this is not a guarantee or certification of the contractor’s work.
8. Complaints
If you have a complaint about the roofing work, raise it with the contractor that contracted with you. You may also contact DRS so we can record the issue and, where appropriate, assist with communication. For complaints about our referral service, contact us directly. Your statutory rights are not limited by these terms.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, remedy, guarantee or condition that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
10. Website use and information
You must provide accurate information and must not submit enquiries fraudulently or for an unlawful purpose. Website information is general and is not a property inspection, technical assessment or roofing quotation. A contractor must assess your property and the proposed work. This is not an emergency response service; for an immediate risk to people or property, contact the appropriate emergency service.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Nothing in this clause limits mandatory protections or rights available under the laws applying to you or your roofing project.
